Showtime Tours Expands Clean Air Commitment
LAS VEGAS, NV, November 9, 2009 – Nevada Coaches, LLC d.b.a. Showtime Tours/Showtime Charters, an airport shuttle, sightseeing tour, and charter bus company, has invested $1.4 million in alternative fuel vehicles. For over two years the company had been testing bio-diesel fuel in its airport shuttle operation. They will take delivery of 11 twenty-passenger mini buses over the next six weeks. The vehicles will operate on clean burning soy-based bio-diesel fuel. This program is an extension of Showtime's commitment to employee, customer, and environmental wellness. The additional vehicles bring the total of Showtime's alternative fuel fleet to 31, making them the largest private Las Vegas area fleet operating on bio-fuel. They are also the only "green" airport shuttle operation at McCarran International Airport.
In addition to the fleet initiatives, Showtime's 24-hour full service maintenance shop and control facility participate in an extensive recycling program which includes paper, glass, scrap metal, oil, filters, tires, refrigerants, and coolants. Showtime provides shared-ride shuttle service from Las Vegas McCarran to both strip and downtown hotels as well as returns. The company was formed as a sightseeing company in 1998, adding airport shuttles the following year. In 2007, Showtime expanded again to include charters.
Part of the Mark Travel Corporation family of companies, the Las Vegas transportation company operates a fleet of 40 twenty-passenger, mini buses and 20 fifty-seven passenger coaches. It employs 120 drivers.
"We are excited to expand our investment in guest, employee, and environmental wellness," says Lisa de Marigny, Vice President - General Manager.
