Hawaii Comes to Milwaukee at The Mark Travel Corporation

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 28, 2002 - The Mark Travel Corporation was recently honored by a visit from Mayor Maryanne Kusaka from the island of Kauai, Hawaii.

Joining Mayor Kusaka were other representatives from the county government and Kauai hotels. Kauai has direct air service from Los Angeles and San Francisco on United Airlines, and is therefore a major destination for United Vacations and Funjet Vacations. In addition, The Mark Travel Corporation and its vacation companies work very closely with the Kauai Visitors Bureau on cooperative marketing and advertising programs, and, in total, is one of the top producers of visitors to Hawaii.

Bill La Macchia, CEO of Mark Travel, presented the mayor with a plaque that reads "In recognition of your support and kokua (Hawaiian for help), The Mark Travel Corporation extends their appreciation to Mayor Maryanne Kusaka and the island of Kauai."

While the mayor and her party met with top executives from Mark Travel, hula dancers and entertainers performed at Mark Travel's reservations center located at 8969 N. Port Washington Rd. in Bayside, Wis.

"This was an excellent opportunity for our visitors to meet our staff and extend their thanks for the business we send their way," said Dave Herron, vice president of Hawaii operations for Mark Travel.

Each of the six major islands comprising Hawaii is its own county, complete with its own local government. Kauai is the oldest island in Hawaii. It is dubbed "the garden island," and is considered by many to be the most beautiful.
