The Mark Travel Corporation, a global company headquartered in Milwaukee, received a 2009 Well Workplace Gold Award from WELCOA, Wellness Council of America. Only 121 companies across the national received a 2009 Well Workplace Award and only 77 were awarded at the Gold level. Other Wisconsin-based companies at the Gold level include Marshall & Ilsley Corporation, Manpower and Marquette University.

Team member wellness has always been a significant focus for The Mark Travel Corporation and the company has had a formal wellness program for many years. "Wellness is an integral part of our culture, as it's been our focus for a number of years. It's nice to be recognized nationally for our wellness efforts," said Bill La Macchia, President of The Mark Travel Corporation.
In addition to offering Weight Watchers on campus, annual Wellness Fairs, Health Risk Assessments, Walking/Exercise programs and a tobacco-cessation program, David Pritchard, a leader in health and fitness, recently joined The Mark Travel Corporation as the Wellness Ambassador for the company. Pritchard organizes and leads interactive health-related educational sessions, plus is an on-site resource to confidentially answer any team member questions.
"Our Wellness Guides and team members have all worked hard to embrace and adopt wellness into their professional and personal lives. We are very honored to receive Gold status from WELCOA and our future goal is to reach Platinum status," said Tammy Ruh-Mertens, Human Resources Manager and Wellness Program Leader for The Mark Travel Corporation, "Because of the dedication and commitment of our team members, it's definitely obtainable."
Shortly following the Well Workplace Gold Award was another honor for The Mark Travel Corporation and its employees. On May 23, 2010, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel announced The Mark Travel Corporation as one the Journal Sentinel Top 100 Workplaces. The Journal Sentinel awards this honor to companies that "…consider it an obligation, or at least smart business, to give their employees a fair shake and a fulfilling work experience."
