The LVCVA and United Vacations Receive SASI Award at the 11th Annual Shop America Tourism Conference
MILWAUKEE, February 5, 2008 – At the 11th annual Shop America Tourism Conference held on January 16, 2008 in New Orleans, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority were presented three SASI Awards - one of which was for the popular Great Las Vegas Giveaway promotion that teamed up United Vacations, the LVCVA and R&R Partners in 2007.
The Great Las Vegas Giveaway is United Vacations most successful travel agent incentive promotion to date. The 10-week competition encouraged agents to book Las Vegas packages while educating them on the shopping, dining and entertainment aspects of the Las Vegas experience. High-end prizes were awarded to the top producing agents who were treated to a three-day VIP trip in Las Vegas, hosted by United Vacations.
SASI stands for Shop America Salutes Innovation. Each year the Shop America Alliance members nominate leaders in the industry who demonstrate exceptional marketing creativity, leadership and vision in the tourism industry. A total of 21 SASI awards for shopping tourism marketing excellence were presented to industry members throughout the United States and Mexico. This was the 7th consecutive year that the SASI Awards have been presented. This is the first time United Vacations has been honored.
